Dr. Stephen Kuniak, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS

Dr. Stephen Kuniak is an Assistant Professor in Lock Haven University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and a Past President of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association. Dr. Kuniak is also a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in PA and clinical supervisor. He holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University. Additionally, he is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Dr. Kuniak has practiced for over 15 years in the areas of family counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, as the clinical director of a counseling agency, and in private practice. Dr. Kuniak's areas of professional interest are in counseling theories and practice, anxiety disorder treatment, substance use treatment, family counseling, human sexuality education and treatment, as an LGBTQIA+ community ally, and clinical supervision. His unique areas of focus are on the clinical application of pop culture and gaming. This includes a special focus on understanding the gaming community as a unique culture. He has published and presented on the use of these forms of media as opportunities to build rapport, create metaphors, and to help clients practice important skills. He has been interviewed by publications like the Washington Post and Counseling Today. 

Dr. David L. Delmonico, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS

Dr. David Delmonico is a Licensed Professional Counseling (PA), National Board Certified Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and Professor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Delmonico earned degrees in psychology, community counseling, and counselor education and supervision at Kent State University.  In 2003, Dr. Delmonico and his business partner Elizabeth Griffin, MA, LMFT, established Internet Behavior Consulting, LLC.  IBC conducts research, consultation, and training on topics related to problematic online sexual behavior – including sexual addiction / sexual compulsivity / hypersexuality, cyberpsychology, and cyberoffense behavior.  Training audiences include mental health workers, probation/parole officers, law enforcement, prosecutors, defense attorneys, etc.  IBC has provided expert consultation services to attorneys in hundreds of cases across the country related to possession, receipt, distribution, or production of child pornography, enticement of minors, sexual exploitation of a minor, online sex trafficking, criminal sexual enterprise, and other related charges.

 

Dr. Delmonico is co-author of four books, including In the Shadows of the Net, Cybersex Unhooked, Cybersex Unplugged, and Illegal Images. He has published numerous peer‑reviewed articles on a variety of technology and sexuality topics. Dr. Delmonico is the founder and director of the Online Behavior Research and Education Center (OBREC) at Duquesne University, and is past editor-in-chief of the Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity journal. 

 

Dr. Natalie A. Drozda, Ph.D., LPC

Dr. Natalie A. Drozda holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. She is an Assistant Professor at Slippery Rock University where she provides counseling to Slippery Rock students as well as teaches graduate courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Her research and clinical specialty areas include sexuality, trauma, addiction, disability, and neurodiversity.  Ms. Drozda completed a qualitative master's thesis project that  afforded her the opportunity to develop research interviewing skills.  Dr. Drozda has also assisted in forensic evaluations of sexual offenders.  Dr. Drozda also served as Assistant to the IRB Chair at Duquesne University helping her understand the research process and ethical treatment of human subjects. 

Elizabeth J. Griffin, MA, LMFT

Elizabeth Griffin is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over thirty-five years experience assessing and treating adults who struggle with problematic sexual behaviors, including sexually compulsive behaviors and sexual offense behaviors. She specializes in assessing and treating individuals who have engaged in online sexual offense behavior and has incorporated assessment for problematic gaming and sexuality into her evaluations.

Ms. Griffin has worked in a variety of settings including in-patient, out-patient, military, prison, and civil commitment. She lectures and consults nationally on the assessment and treatment of problematic online sexual behaviors, sexual offending behaviors and sexual compulsivity.  Ms. Griffin has published numerous academic articles on issues related to problematic sexual behavior. She is co-author of several books and workbooks including In the Shadows of the Net, Cybersex Unhooked, Cybersex Unplugged and Illegal Images. Ms. Griffin is the founder of Internet Behavior Consulting, a company focused on issues related to problematic online behavior.
